Ottawa, Ontario
Anette wins the prize for the most delayed travel post ever!
In late January, I traveled to Ottawa for a 3 day business trip, and amid full days of meetings, I managed to see a fair bit of our Nation's capital. First up was a quick visit (of a whole 30 minutes!) to the Museum of Civilization in Gatineau.

I also hit the The National Gallery of Canada with another 30 minute tour. I continued the great tradition of getting in trouble for taking pictures where it wasn't allowed. So enjoy these, they've forever cost me the trust of an unnamed security guard on the opposite side of the country.

I also managed to cram in a 45 minute tour of Parliament, and had a chance to climb the Peace Tower and see the Memorial Chamber - a room at the base of the Peace Tower has many ornate books containing the names of every soldier who died serving Canada at war or in peace-keeping missions.
I rented skates and took a 20 minute glide (okay - a slow, fumbling walk with a few falls) along the Rideau Canal - I was lucky to be able to do this, as the canal only officially opened on my last day in town!

And finally, I ate a Beaver Tail - a true Ottawa delicacy!
Even though Brad wasn't there I felt compelled to take the obligatory "Anette's-gaping-maw-about-to-devour-a-delectable-treat" picture.
It was a jam-packed, whirlwind trip that left me tired for the next week and a half - but it was great! Ottawa is a beautiful city, and would undoubtedly be spectacular during spring when every thing's lush and green.
