St. Lucia (Part B)

The 'B' in (Part B) stands for Badass.
Or Barefoot.

Regardless, our Badass Barefoot Wedding was just that. With my Uncle Colin officiating, my dad as the best man, Anette's brother Andre as Anette's best...butler, trumpet guy... and most of our closest friends and family sitting in front of us on the beach it was a momentous, meaningful and yet casual and funny ceremony - perfect for us.

My uncle has a great sense of humour and confirmed that during the ceremony to any doubters in introducing my mom as being 'from the hills of the little people' and my dad as from 'the valley of ogre'. These witticisms and bursts of levity were tempered with moments of great trueness, written, thought upon and delivered as it could have only been by a great friend and one of the core people in my life.

An incredibly rare photo at the left and our 'regulars' on the right looking to be in fine form!

Admitting our (royal our, meaning my) weakness of being particularly un-photogenic, we had disposable and digital cameras in plethora, preferring to believe strength lied in numbers. Some truly amazing shots of the day have come back to us, making this blog post particularly easy.

No wedding of ours would be complete without some completely random and borderline absurd photos thanks to resident masters of 'odd' Neal and Brendon. Truly a proud moment in the moe/kinley household with some spectacularly tight slacks.

No wedding is complete without a pirate-themed, spiced rum fueled, catamaran cruise right? Check out the picture below with our prized and sought after 'pirate ring barrier' Cooper who now has 4 (or is it 5?) weddings under his belt. He was sorely disappointed he had spotted none of the promised 'hot chicks' which he had been told were at the resort and a key reason for signing onto the project.

And really..what pirate-themed, spice rum fueled, catamaran cruise is complete without drinks and appetizers back at a villa overlooking the ocean? None worth going on that's what! Dancing, a tour of Rodney Bay, the search for the green flash and before long we were back at Windjammer Resort for our big appetizers and rum post-post wedding party.

The pictures trailed off as people needed two hands and a trolley for the mountain of food, drink and cake. However, a few pictures of the cake, neal doing a seagull impression and a disreputable little game my dad came up with called long dong pong showed up.

Oh! I almost forgot the straight up goods...

Dear Brad and Anette,
Arda mentioned that you guys got married so I went to take a look at the photos. Congratulations! Looks like you guys had a wonderful time. It's great to see what you guys did too as Arbi and I are engaged! And thinking about a possible beach wedding.
Hope that you're enjoying edmonton and that the weather isn't too wet!
Minx
