Our New Place in Edmonton

Quite a few of you have been asking to see pictures of our new condo.

We moved in early May, right in the middle of preparations for the wedding and reception, and just a week before we hopped on the plane to St. Lucia. Since the craziness of May and June have passed, we've had time to really settle in and enjoy our new home.

Here's the Grand Tour:

This is our building, Magrath Mansion. (Yes, we're so fancy, we live in a mansion, darling.)



It is in the neighbourhood of Magrath Heights in "South West" Edmonton, and is situated across from a lovely park complete with a fancy waterfall and a walking path. It's also on the edge of a branch of Edmonton's river valley. (A little taste of Fish Creek Park in Calgary, though not quite as awesome.)



This is what you see when you drive through the grand archway.


(Our amenities building - which includes a gym complete with steam room and jacuzzi, a pool/TV/poker room, a theatre room, and a patio complete with massive BBQ and outdoor fireplace.)

This is the entrance on the West end of the building, where our condo is.


Head up to the fourth floor, open the door to #418, and this is what you'll see.
(As you can see, you can see pretty much everything from the front door. Go open concept!)


The kitchen is to the left as you enter.

Our hamster, Gringo, has a place close to all the cooking and baking action.

(Here he is having a go at a toilet paper roll - laying on his back, totally oblivious to the camera. He's a character!)

To the right of the entrance, we have a cosy little office - Brad's domain, where he spends countless hours honing his animation skills.

(Our little laundry/storage room is accessed through the office.)

Beyond the kitchen is the dining room...

(which we are starting to fill out with chairs!)

... and the living room.

(which, we hope, will soon be enhanced with a big-screen LCD TV - Brad's days of complaining he can't see his video games properly are numbered.)

At the end of the living room, to the right, is the door out to our balcony.

(It gets a lot of use with our BBQ out there!)

Going back to the kitchen -"dining room" area, to the right you will find our bedroom, bathroom and linen closet (from left to right in the picture).

(Now those of you who come for a visit have no excuse for not knowing where the bathroom is!)

And here's a peek in the bedroom, which has beautiful French doors out to the balcony and a fantastic print of New York - a place close to our hearts. (See our New York posts, if you don't know about that!)


Now that was a pretty thorough tour, especially since our condo is actually the smallest layout in the mansion.

We love our new place, and hope you can come for a visit and see it for yourself!
