Vancouver, British Columbia

I was invited out to Electronic Arts Vancouver after being choosen as one of 25 finalist in their EA REVEAL contest, which recognizes 3D short films being created by students around the country. It was a wild 4 days and was fortunate enough to be there with two friends from Sheridan College who had qualified as well.

A short limo ride from the airport, an amazing array of meals, drinks and exploring Vancouver awaited. Part of the judging included discussing your short film with a variety of EA lead artists and and directors. Among the 5 people in their theater were Matrix 2/3, Twister, Star Wars, King Kong Stuart Little veterns. It was a an incredible opportunity.

I wasn't allowed to take pictures inside the EA studio, but it is an bat shit insane complex nestled in the middle of a forest. On the list of highlights were full size Soccer, basketball, beach volleyball courts and a 20,000 square foot gym. 1500 people work there, and with how beautiful Vancouver is, it'd be an interesting place to work someday.

A 12 kilometer hike around downtown Vancouver (in dress shoes) on a beautiful day really struck us with how many parks, and open areas there are to explore just minutes from the downtown core.
