Oakville, Ontario
It has been a very long time in the planning, but we've finally moved to Oakville Ontario so Brad can attend Sheridan College's well-known and well-respected Digital Character Animation program. It is an intensive 8 month program meant for people in the industry looking to sharpen their skills or students who have already completed the 4 year general computer animation course Sheridan offers. >
.
The long drive out to Ontario provided us plenty of time to reflect on the adventure we'd just been on, and think about what we'd learned along the way. We both realized just how important the time we spend with our friends and families is to us. You might have guessed it's been a difficult thing to learn while we've been in the process of moving so far away. Though, with the emails from everyone, and support from each other, we're both doing well.

The advantage is that the program is short and our place here in Oakville is a very comfortable place to be while we're here. It's a basement suite near Sheridan which was recently renovated and features some very large windows. We moved in with our sleeping bags and waited a couple days for the movers to arrive.

Miraculously everything arrived intact, and we spent a couple marathon days putting everything together and getting settled. (Go Ikea!) All of our families and friends have been very generous, and I think we've got just about everything we need to be comfortable and well taken care of.

Fans of the The 'Dragon' will be relieved that it made it here without serious injury and now he's safely back inside the coffee table, which also arrived unscathed.

The program ends in May, and we aren't sure exactly what will happen then... but there are great opportunities for both of us in Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver - all within easy reach of the people we love. Over the next little while, Anette will be looking for a job and Brad settling into school.
We'll be back in Calgary for Christmas, and look forward to seeing everyone then. The blog, we imagine, will be pretty quiet until then, but check back every couple weeks to see if we have any news or pictures to share.

Kos dere begge to! Klem fra tante Torill
HI Brad and Anette. Glad you are home safe and sound. We missed you in Mykonos, we were there on the same day. The winds were crazy and even our huge 2600 passenger, 17 storey ship was listingb because of them. Some of our friends got to Delos but it was the worst ride ever and they were not allowed outside on the ships and many were sick. We opted for the safety of Paradise Beach in the morning and a restaurant by the sea with a view of your windmills. I hope you at least waved.
We didn't find Naples nearly so bad. We hit the Archaeological museum which had the mosaics and artifacts from Pompeii and Herculaneum, but now I am wishing we also saw Herculaneum after your review. We had amazing pizza near the museum and managed to stay in a fairly nice area. Just lucky I guess because we had been warned as well re how grotty it was, But we wandered for a morning and went to some cool churches and a great bakery for their specialty.
Well back to the real world for all of us. Hope all goes well for you this year. Brenda and Neil
I'm awesome!
In that picture of Brad and Anette sitting on the sleeping bags, it looks like Brad is holding Anette down so she doesn't escape. Be careful not to let your guard down when smiling for photos!
